The Project

Project iPhoneography is my latest attempt for a photoblog (yes, I had numerous attempts in the past…). I always had a passion for photography. I love taking pictures, capturing priceless moments as they happen and browsing through pictures with amazing effects. As the old saying goes, “a picture can paint a thousand words”, and I believe they really do.

At first I wanted to create a Project 365, wherein you will have to post one picture a day for 365 days (in short, for a year). But I was just not up to it. I tried it for a month but I was left not being able to take pictures for a number of days and resorted to backposting old pictures. Then I just suddenly realized, who the hell am I cheating but myself? So then I decided, I might as well create a photoblog, thus Project iPhoneography was born.

The Passion

In pursuing this passion, I bought my first ever DSLR camera, a Canon 400D. Though it has the features to take perfect pictures, it’s bulk and size became a downside. I wanted to carry it everyday but it’s just a burden. With this, I bought a smaller point-and-shoot digital camera, a Canon Ixus 80IS. It was very handy, I took it with me all the time. The only problem with my Ixus was sharing. The time came when social networks has gone mobile, that gave us the ability to share pictures in an instant! With my Ixus, I can’t do that. I still have to wait to go back home, copy the pictures from my Ixus to my laptop before I can upload it. Hassle.

Then my iPhone 4 came. Sporting a 5 megapixel camera, it produces digicam-quality pictures. And with the different social networking apps available, you can instantly upload pictures and share them with your friends. Another added-value in using my iPhone was the app called Instagram. Actually, it’s a social network in itself (a photo-sharing network). But what makes Instagram stand out is its photo filters. These filters turn your bland pictures into attractive works of art! And this app also allows you to connect with your other favorite social networks so you can easily share your Instagram photos.

The Future

I am currently experimenting other apps that can transform pictures to wonders, you’ll now about it in this blog. Until then!
